Dr. Ashley Hood was born in California and raised in Houston, Texas.
She completed her associate’s degree in biological sciences and bachelor’s degree in molecular biology with a minor in biochemistry at Northern Virginia Community College and Marymount University, respectively. After her undergraduate studies, she conducted research with an organization dedicated to the monitoring and conservation of endangered hawksbill sea turtles in Belize.
Dr. Hood went on to attend Oklahoma State University (Go Pokes!) where she graduated in 2015. While there she served as vice president of the school’s Omega Tau Sigma chapter, a professional veterinary fraternity. In addition to receiving her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, she was also awarded the Dr. Newton B. Tennille Scholarship for promoting fellowship and community.
Dr. Hood’s practice of veterinary medicine is infused with a passion that comes with fulfilling her lifelong dream. She has particular interests in small animal soft tissue surgery and dentistry, as well as developing genuine, understanding relationships with all of her patients and clients. When she’s not providing compassionate care for your pet, Dr. Hood enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband, three children, two dogs, miniature pony and two cats.
